Event Info

Door Times

Door times are listed on your ticket and on our website event page.

Just a heads up — door time isn’t the same as stage time.

We recommend arriving early so you don’t miss anything. Final set times are usually shared on our social channels on the day of the event, but please note timings can change.

Last entry and closing times vary depending on the event.

- Gigs: Last entry is usually when the headliner starts
- Club nights: Check the event page or our socials for details

Age Restrictions

Age limits vary depending on the event and will always be listed on the event page and ticketing site.
Please double check before booking, as incorrectly purchased tickets can’t be refunded.

Ticketing

Event Tickets

Tickets for our shows are sold through our website via our ticketing partner SEE Tickets.

Once you’ve booked, you’ll get a confirmation email from SEE with your digital ticket. If it doesn’t land in your inbox, have a quick check of your spam folder.

Tickets may be sold through other providers as well. Stick to authorised sellers.

If your ticket is lost, damaged, or you’ve got any issues at all, please get in touch with your original point of purchase as they’ll be able to help you out.

Availability, Resale & Waitlists

Whether tickets are available depends on whether the event is sold out.

You can check availability and buy tickets via our WHAT’S ON PAGE. If there are still some left on the night, you might also be able to grab one from the Box Office once doors open. You can also buy tickets at our Box Office during daytime opening hours 8am-4pm Monday-Friday.

We strongly recommend only buying resale tickets through the official SEE Tickets resale platform, the SEE waitlist, or trusted resale sites like Twickets.

Buying tickets elsewhere is done entirely at your own risk, and unfortunately we can’t help with tickets bought through unauthorised sellers.

What’s the Restoration Levy?

You might notice a Restoration Levy on your ticket price. This goes directly towards maintaining the building.

New Century is a Grade II listed building and an important part of Manchester’s cultural history. Looking after it properly means a lot of upkeep, specialist work, and approvals from third parties, which can be costly.

We’re committed to keeping this place special for the community and preserving it for future generations. The levy helps us do exactly that, so thank you for supporting the venue.

Venue Policies

Admission & Refusals

Entry to the venue is always at the discretion of management.

Anyone who appears heavily intoxicated or behaves inappropriately in the queue may be refused entry.

For everyone’s safety, you may also be asked to undergo a security search on entry. If you decline, we won’t be able to let you inside.

We also reserve the right to remove or refuse entry to anyone behaving inappropriately, including (but not limited to):
- abusive or discriminatory behaviour
- smoking or vaping inside the venue
- possession of prohibited items
- intoxication

Refunds will not be issued in these situations.

Re-Entry

New Century Hall operates a strict no re-entry policy.

Once your ticket has been scanned, you won’t be able to leave and come back in.

If you’re planning to visit New Century Kitchen, please do so before entering the Hall, as you won’t be able to access the full Kitchen once your ticket’s scanned.

Don’t worry though — there’ll always be bars and a smoking area available for Hall customers.

We only accept the following forms of ID:

- Valid passport
- Valid driving licence (full or provisional)

Unfortunately we can’t accept anything else.

Any fake ID will be confiscated and passed to the police. Please note that having ID does not guarantee entry.

If you’re lucky enough to look under 25, you’ll be asked to show ID when buying alcohol.
Attempting to buy alcohol under the age of 18 is a criminal offence and may result in removal from the venue.
Anyone aged 18+ found buying drinks for under-18s will also be removed without refund.

Dress Code

We keep things pretty relaxed, but we ask that you avoid:
- sportswear

- studded shoes (for safety reasons)

Sound Levels

Shows can get loud, and prolonged exposure to high sound levels can affect hearing.
If you’d like them, earplugs are available from the bars.

Lighting Effects

Some events may include strobe lighting, smoke or pyrotechnics.

There’ll be signage on the night to let you know. If you have any concerns, just speak to a member of staff.

Seating

The Hall and Locker are primarily standing venues.

Reserved seating is only available in our designated Access area for accessibility ticket holders.

There is seating available in New Century Kitchen on a first-come basis.

For shows that are seated, seats are allocated on a first come, first served policy.

Harassment

We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment.

New Century should always be a safe space for music, creativity and community. If you experience or witness any behaviour that makes you uncomfortable, please speak to a member of staff.

You’ll always be taken seriously and can talk with us privately.

We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for everyone.

Harassment of any kind, including physical, verbal, or sexual harassment, will not be tolerated. Any individual accused or engaging in such behaviour may be required to leave the premises immediately. The Venue reserves the right to refuse entry, remove individuals from the premises, and notify the police where appropriate.

If you’d like to report something after an event, please email hello@newcenturymcr.com and ask to speak to the Operations Manager.

Protecting Against Drink Spiking

We take drink safety seriously and operate a zero-tolerance policy on drugs and banned substances.

Anyone found in possession may be refused entry and the police may be involved.

The venue is covered by CCTV, and staff are trained to respond quickly to any concerns.

If you think your drink may have been tampered with, please speak to a member of staff straight away so we can help and make sure you’re safe.

Anti-spiking drink covers are available from all bars.
